Take care of your emotional health
We are here for you. Students seeking mental health support can access a number of remote and in-person services. Read below for ways to support your mental well-being:
- 24/7 Mental Health Support: With the Anytime Anywhere app, students have access to free and confidential mental health and wellness counseling at any time of day, from anywhere in the world, 365 days a year.
- Physical Activity: Be active to support your mental health. Recreational Sports and Physical Activity Courses provide many ways to get involved, whether in person or accessing services remotely. Visit a local park or explore the outdoors at OSU's McDonald-Dunn Forest and Campus Arboretum.
- Wellness Coaching: Wellness coaching helps you work toward personal, meaningful goals with the assistance of a certified wellness coach. Schedule an appointment for this free service.
- Counseling & Psychological Services: CAPS offers a variety of services, resources, and referrals to support your well-being and help you meet your goals, including short-term counseling, the Single Session Clinic and group support. A range of services are available to students enrolled at the Corvallis campus and Ecampus students residing in Oregon.
- Beavers Belong Support Network: Beavers Belong is a student-led network through which you can connect, feel heard, and find your place at OSU through weekly peer-facilitated groups and community-building events.
- Mind Spa: This private relaxation space offered by CAPS is designed to help you unwind and rejuvenate with amenities to support your well-being.
- Marigold: The OSU Center for Contemplative Practice offers yoga meditation, and mindfulness classes contributing to a more compassionate and wise world through practice, reflection, and service.
- OSU Student Health Mental Wellness Services: OSU Student Health provides mental well-being evaluations and manages both acute and chronic mental health conditions.
- Gender-based Violence Support Services: OSU has resources if you need support or have questions related to unwanted sexual contact, stalking, or relationship violence. Call CAPS at 541-737-2131 or contact the Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education at 541-737-2030.
- OSU-Cascades Support: OSU-Cascades students may contact [email protected]. OSU-Cascades students may also access free counseling services at the Counseling Clinic at the Graduate & Research Center.
Support for your basic needs
Many Oregon State students experience financial uncertainty. There is support for you.
Food Security
Many college students are eligible for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP, which provides monthly grocery assistance funds. Undergraduate students who are U.S. permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Connect with the Basic Needs Center to get help applying. Plus, check out the food pantry and other food resources at the BNC.
Academic Resources
The Basic Needs Center helps students access a broad range of resources to support their academic success, including calculator and laptop loans. Students can pick up physical books through the Textbook Lending Program and also request a digital textbookfrom the Valley Library. Note that many services are first come, first serve — connect with the BNC today!
Basic Needs Navigation
A community of peer support at the Basic Needs Center can help you file for unemployment, find housing resources and learn about the Oregon Health Plan. BNC will connect you with food, emergency housing and other services. The friendly student staff at the BNC are there to guide and assist you in the face of unexpected financial challenges.
Lounge and Laundry Facilities
Students are invited to enjoy a snack and study in the lounge spaces at the Basic Needs Center's Champinefu Lodge.
Laundry machines and detergent (at no cost) are also available in Champinefu Lodge for student use by appointment, Monday through Friday. Find an open time slot and sign up.
Financial Aid Assistance
The Office of Financial Aid helps you navigate how to apply for and maintain financial aid. If you have not already, please complete the FAFSA form and then review your responses with the Office of Financial Aid. You are also encouraged to contact the financial aid office if you or a family member lose employment or have a significant change in your economic resources.
Financial Education
The Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFE) supports students by offering one-on-one advising, financial literacy courses, workshops and self-study Canvas modules. CAFE can help you learn about financial resources, how to create a budget and ways to save. Interested? Visit the CAFE website or email [email protected].
Physical well-being
Oregon State University has a broad range of resources to enhance your physical well-being — read below to discover ways to be active, support your sexual health, eat healthy and find assistance as a survivor.
Need to make an appointment with OSU's Student Health Services? Call 541-737-9355 or schedule via the patient portal. You can also explore prevention and wellness services on the OSU Student Health website, where you can access nutrition resources, join a recovery community or find services like substance use counseling and education.

Your Sexual Health
Student Health Services connects students with a number of resources to support their sexual health:
Find answers to your questions about sexual health, including information on consent, contraception and STIs. You can also look up locations for free condoms, internal condoms and dental dams on the Corvallis campus.
OSU Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education's (CAPE) Safer Sex team will mail FREE safer sex supplies right to your door! Fill out this DAM Delivery google form to have a FREE safer sex kit or menstruation kit delivered to your home or campus mailbox. Students may customize their kits by choosing from a variety of external condoms, internal condoms, dental dams, lubricant and menstruation supplies.
Oregon Contraceptive Care (CCare) provides free contraceptive management services to students who qualify, including birth control and reproductive health care regardless of gender. The program is available to U.S. citizens who meet income requirements and are not enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan.
Sexual health means relationships that are free of coercion, discrimination and violence. If you are a survivor of sexual violence and need help, contact the Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education for confidential support.

- Food Assistance: The Basic Needs Center is here to support your basic needs and physical well-being. Access food resources or connect with the center for help applying for SNAP benefits.
- Food @ OSU: Check out nutritious food across the Corvallis campus by visiting Food @ OSU. Current restaurant locations and hours of operation are listed, plus find information on robot delivery and mobile order pickup through Starship food delivery.
- Nutrition Counseling: Talk to a registered dietitian — OSU Student Health offers unlimited one-on-one nutrition counseling at no charge.

The Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education provides support, safety planning and advocacy for survivors of interpersonal violence, including sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, stalking, harassment or bullying.
