OSU Experience

A minor in leadership will help you make the most of your personal and professional life.
Whether it's landing your dream job, volunteering in your community or accomplishing another goal. The minor is designed to provide the most beneficial educational experience possible, and it's open to every student on campus, regardless of major, department or college affiliation. With diverse coursework and experiential learning opportunities, including internships that can be incorporated into your primary degree program, the leadership minor will prepare you to take initiative and create change specific to your interests and passions.

The OSU Office of Global Opportunities (OSU GO) advises students on study abroad, international internships and global research. Learn how to take your education abroad!

Many colleges and majors offer leadership academies or similar programming for students to develop leadership skills and increase competitiveness in the job market.

The Honors College encourages curiosity and rewards creativity. Small, interactive classes, typically limited to 12 or 20 students, are taught by the university’s top professors. Your experience will also go beyond the classroom, with opportunities to engage in hands-on learning, research and a senior thesis project in the topic of your choice. This is one of only a handful of degree-granting honors colleges in the United States. 

The Hatfield Marine Science Center offers a variety of student internships. Potential research areas include collection and analysis of fish, marine predator/prey studies, physical oceanography and science education.

The Educational Opportunities Program provides a welcoming environment that supports the full development of the personal and academic potential of students who have traditionally been denied equal access to higher education. EOP services include personalized advising with EOP counselors, tutoring services and assistance through the admissions process and locating financial resources.

The OSU-Cascades Student Success Center offers a range of free services to help students succeed, including academic advising, career services, international programs, wellness resources and tutoring.

The OSU-Cascades Career Development Center empowers students to find their career path through exploration and engagement.

The ASOSU student advocate provides mentoring, professional development and strategic advice to the ASOSU executive, legislative and judicial branches. The advocate coordinates the ASOSU Internship Program, which includes coursework designed to advance student government leadership by familiarizing students with community organizing, movement-building, political identity development and tactics for addressing issues facing students.
