OSU Experience

An advisor at OSU-Cascades assists students with disabilities and helps coordinate services with the Disability Access Services office at the Corvallis campus. OSU-Cascades students who need disability accommodations must register with the DAS office at the Corvallis campus.

Academic advisors assist you in long and short-term academic and career planning. They provide information on curricula, educational and experiential options within your college and the university, schedule planning, and help interpret university and departmental requirements.

Disability Access Services facilitates access to university programs and services for students with disabilities through accommodations, education, consultation and advocacy. DAS provides support to all Oregon State University students, including on- and off-campus students and students at OSU-Cascades.

Career Decision Making (ALS 114) is a two-credit course designed to help students gain a better understanding of their interests, values and abilities as they relate to the world of work. Instructors provide guided career exploration in a classroom setting. Students explore educational, extra-curricular and career possibilities to comprehend their major and career decision-making processes.

Academic Success (ALS 116) is a two-credit class that explores the expectations and skills involved in being academically successful at the university level. This class will enhance your time management, note taking, test preparation and critical reading abilities.

Academic Learning Services offers 2-3 credit courses designed to help you acquire confidence and foundational skills necessary for success in the university environment. Earn credit toward graduation while engaging in active learning and reflection to help you on your path to a degree and post-graduation success.
