University Exploratory Studies Program (UESP) is the academic home for students who are exploring their options before deciding on a major. UESP offers a comprehensive range of services to help students make informed decisions about their academic coursework and potential majors. UESP also serves Ecampus students.

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) program offers peer-led, group study tables for challenging courses. SI is free and available to all students registered for the course. A list of supported courses and study table times is available on the website. 

Through the Career Development Center, students have free access to Focus2, an online tool which helps you identify your strengths and match them to potential careers. It is a great tool for discovering how to best utilize your strengths, what environments you thrive in and how to translate personal skills to the work environment.

A minor in leadership will help you make the most of your personal and professional life.
Whether it's landing your dream job, volunteering in your community or accomplishing another goal. The minor is designed to provide the most beneficial educational experience possible, and it's open to every student on campus, regardless of major, department or college affiliation. With diverse coursework and experiential learning opportunities, including internships that can be incorporated into your primary degree program, the leadership minor will prepare you to take initiative and create change specific to your interests and passions.

A student who is undecided on a major of study is considered an exploratory student, and part of the University Exploratory Studies Program. Whether you are a freshman trying to understand what path you should follow or a returning student changing career goals, exploring is the key to finding your major. OSU-Cascades offers the support you need to succeed.

The OSU Program Council is a student-led, student-driven organization, which plans and produces meaningful events. We are committed to serving the Oregon State community by upholding traditions and creating inclusive programming that enhances the college experience.

Many colleges and majors offer leadership academies or similar programming for students to develop leadership skills and increase competitiveness in the job market.

The Honors College encourages curiosity and rewards creativity. Small, interactive classes, typically limited to 12 or 20 students, are taught by the university’s top professors. Your experience will also go beyond the classroom, with opportunities to engage in hands-on learning, research and a senior thesis project in the topic of your choice. This is one of only a handful of degree-granting honors colleges in the United States.
